As a publisher Centaur didn’t last long in comics, but running from 1938 to 1942 it was one of the first and had a few interesting odd ball characters, one was Doctor Synthe of the planet Mo who appeared in the pages of Stars & Stripes Comics.
Sometimes it seems golden-age only two types of characters, those who only ability as a good right hook and crappy fashion sense and those that could do anything, Doctor Synthe was one of the later. Visiting from Mo, a planet a million light years from Earth he just popped in to see what Earth was all about, like everyone on Mo he could control matter at a sub-atomic level which gave him the ability to free the unknown writer of the strip from any restrictions on him doing whatever came to him.
For reader identification he had two everyday Americans long for the ride.
