From the old hype that went no where department:
Wild Palms by Bruce Wagner (Author), and Julian Allen (Illustrator) from 1993. Comic that appeared in Details Magazine (which meant it was a really for real something with it not appearing as one of those nasty little comic things but in a magazine with like photos of people famous for being well known on the cover! ) and ended up being turned into a much hyped mini-series that pretty quickly tanked.
