The Eye, along with his own short lived comic Eye Detective, also appeared in Keen Detective.

He had no secret identity, no origin or for that matter even a rational for being, he just was one of the really odd ball characters that showed up before comic characters started to calcify into a number of set types they had to be.

He “returned” in the 1992 in the pages ofMalibu’s The Protectors having by that time become a public domain character.

Sadly they showed a remarkable lack of imagination by insisting on turning him into just another Wolverine wanna be “grim avenger” in an outfit that looked like he had robbed a Jazzercise studio before overdosing on steroids.
