 Actually all it does is detect humidity, and they leave out the salient little tidbit of information that you need to be careful with cobalt blue as if you handle too much with your hands or breathe in some of the stuff you could get cobalt poisoning which raise a rash on the skin as well as induce asthma attacks prone to those and difficulty breathing even in people who don’t have that problem.
But what they hey, this was the era where you could buy explosives though the mail, so have fun kids! It’s called evolution; survive if you have what it takes.
