As you may have heard, according to computer programmer William Tunstall-Pedoe who created a computer program called True Knowledge and used it to analyze 300 million facts, the dullest day in the 20th century was April 11, 1954.
However no matter how dull 4 / 11 / 54 (or 11 / 4 / 54 if you’re British) was let’s not discount that tireless enemy of tedium the human imagination.
That being the case lets see what were some of the magazines on the stands in April of 1954 that you could have taken home to help get past that dreary dull spot.
Note, because they date them ahead of time April comics were dated June, while magazines were either May or June.
While looking these up I noticed that many of the comic of the time were bi-monthly, and it seems that April was the month skipped by more than half.
Perhaps that says something right there.
